Georgia Makes Final Preparations For SEC Showdown Against Tennessee

ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia football team made final preparations for their upcoming Southeastern Conference Eastern Division showdown against Tennessee by holding a 90-minute practice at Sanford Stadium on Thursday.

The Bulldogs (3-2, 2-1 SEC) worked out in helmets and shorts while completing the game plan for Saturday's contest against the Volunteers (2-3, 0-2 SEC). Approximately 45 minutes of the practice included crowd noise being played over the sound system to simulate the game day atmosphere that Georgia will face in Neyland Stadium.

Prior to Thursday's practice, Georgia head coach Mark Richt addressed the tailback position. He stated that sophomore Richard Samuel would probably start and that with redshirt sophomore Caleb King out with a concussion and fracture in his jaw that freshman Washaun Ealey would factor into a game plan at the position similar to what the team has been using.

"I would think it would not be a whole lot different than Richard and Caleb," Richt said. "It'll be kind of similar to that."

Richt also noted that Ealey, who rushed for 33 yards on eight carries in his Bulldog debut last week against fourth-ranked LSU, has done well this week in practice preparing to play at Tennessee.

"He's seems excited about it," Richt said. "I think he's practiced pretty well. He thinks he's ready. We'll see. It's hard to describe what it's like over there to the guys who have never been there."

Tennessee leads the all-time series with Georgia, 20-16-2 overall and 8-6-1 in Neyland Stadium, but Georgia has won five of the eight meetings since Richt took the helm of the program in 2001 including three of the last four matchups in Knoxville.

Kickoff on Saturday is set for 12:21 p.m. ET, and the SEC Network will televise the contest. It will be Georgia's first appearance on the network which will feature the broadcast team of Dave Neal calling the play-by-play, Andre Ware providing color analysis and Cara Capuano reporting from the sidelines. All Georgia games are broadcast live on the Bulldog Radio Network on ISP Sports with Scott Howard calling the play-by-play and Eric Zeier providing color analysis. The radio audio can also be heard worldwide on both georgiadogs.com, the official website of UGA Athletics, on XM Satellite Radio channel 201 and on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 213.
