Against Western Carolina, Georgia leads the all-time series 2-0 with both meetings coming in Athens, first in in 2007 and then again last year.

Against Winthrop, who has come to Athens every year since 2002 with the exception of 2008, Georgia leads the all-time series 14-2. The Bulldogs won last year’s contest, and the Eagles last won in the series in 2007, when the teams split a pair of games.

Six Bulldogs have combined to hit nine home runs through four games. Last year, Georgia set a school record with 85 home runs, and after four games the 2009 squad had also hit nine home runs.

On Feb. 13 vs. UCF, Georgia posted a five-home run outing matching the school record for home runs in a game. Brianna Hesson and Ashley Razey each hit two home runs in the game while Alisa Goler added a grand slam. The record had been established on two previous occasions: First in 2003 vs. Southeastern Louisiana and then again in 2009 vs. IUPUI.

McCloud Honored
Junior Sarah McCloud was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week (2/15) following the opening week of the 2010 season. McCloud made two appearances going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Against UCF, she tossed a five-inning, complete-game one-hit shutout with four strikeouts. She then went six shutout innings against Florida Atlantic scattering just four hits, walking none and striking out six.

The Pitcher of the Week honor is the first in McCloud’s career, and it marks the second time she’s earned weekly recognition from the league after being named Freshman of the Week on March 31, 2008.
