GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- Steffi Sorensen's game-high 20 points propelled Florida (14-13, 7-7 SEC) to a 64-57 decision over No. 20 Georgia (20-7, 7-7 SEC) on Sunday.

Porsha Phillips' double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds led Georgia, while Ashley Houts added 12 points and seven assists and Jasmine Hassell chipped in 11 points.

The Gators grabbed a lead midway through the first half and withstood the Lady Bulldogs' attempts to rally.

"It was non-competitive, especially in the first half," Andy Landers said. "The first half was pathetic. I think I'll just throw it out there and whoever wants to start on Thursday will be the ones who compete and kick the others' tails in practice this week."

Florida led 33-21 at the intermiession. Georgia pulled within eight and had possession less than five minutes into the second stanza, but Houts and Jasmine James missed back-to-back threes.

The Gators eventually expanded their lead to 14 points twice before Georgia rallied again. A Candace Williams three capped a 16-6 run made it 61-57 with 29 seconds left. Sorensen then missed two straight free throws, but the Lady Bulldogs turned the ball over on their ensuing possession and got not closer.

The Gators outrebounded Georgia, 38-33, including 17 offensive boards.

"We had a chance to come back in the second half, but time after time, it seemed like they would get offensive rebound after offensive rebound," Landers said.

The Lady Bulldogs started quickly and scored the game's first seven points over a span of 3:40; however, Florida responded with eight unanswered.

After four ties over the next 4:49, the Gators embarked on an 11-2 run to gain the game's first meaningful lead.

Georgia will face South Carolina in Columbia on Thursday before returning home next Sunday to host Arkansas on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. That contest is the Lady Bulldogs' regular-season finale and will serve as "Senior Day," with players and support staff honored prior to tipoff. In addition, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive Build-a-Bear Georgia bears.

Reserved-seat tickets for Lady Bulldog home games are $5 for adults and $3 for children and are available at http://www.georgiadogs.com or at the UGA Athletic Ticket Office in the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall on Monday-Friday from 8:30-4:30. Tickets go on sale at Stegeman Coliseum at 12:30 next Sunday.
