ATHENS, Ga. ----- Georgia senior Courtney McCool has been named the SEC’s Co-Gymnast of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. The Missouri native helped the UGA gymnastics team to a 196.575-196.050 win over No. 10 LSU last Friday to remain a perfect 4-0 at home this season. The award is McCool’s second of the season as she was named the first Gymnast of the Week in 2010, and it is the third of her career. It is the fourth team award of the year for Georgia. McCool won three individual event titles, including her sixth floor title of the year with a season-best score of 9.950, in addition to her fourth beam title (9.925) and second bars title (9.875). McCool also maintained her No. 1 national ranking on the floor exercise with a 9.920 RQS as her 9.919 average is also tops in the country. McCool and the Gym Dogs are back in action when the host No. 3 UCLA on Sat., March 6 at 4 p.m. at Stegeman Coliseum.
