What does this mean to the Elephants? I think McCain just set up Joe Biden. As I said previously, Joe (and I am not talking about his politics) has the personality of a porcupine. He simply cannot keep his tongue holstered, and will go off on Sarah Palin, regardless of the fact he knows it is impolitic to abuse a women. Of course, she may kick his butt all the way back to Delaware, but even if she does, he will be seen as a prick for treating her the way he will. Again, not talking about his politics, just his personality. The downside to her is that McCain is betting on picking up the women's vote, but Democratic women do not see Republican women as women; they see them as Republicans.
